A few more questions

A few more questions! I had a small discussion with my good old friend from UK.I am not sure how comfortable she is with revealing her name. So for the time being it remains anonymous.
She says she goes out in revealing, low-necks, low hemlines. No one seems to bother her except the Indians, Pakis and Banglas .

So does sexual liberalization resolve our problem? I doubt it!
Are we historically a bunch of lusty men. Sex has been very great motivation right from the architecture, sculptures, poems to wars, feuds and marriages.
Could education resolve the problem?

The same sex schools (Boys’/Girls’) were started at a time when there was restriction for education in many societies. Why the hell do we have them today?
Why do segregate the boys and girls in our classrooms? Why don’t they sit together and mingle right from the kindergarten? Why can’t they involve in mixed group activities?
At least no one gets pregnant till teens!!

There is no much point in segregating based on sex and sex rights don’t solve anyone’s problem. Male and female has to rise to level of humans. For this men and women will have to consider each other as humans rather than someone needing special attention.

Hope a day will come when we see women walking topless in Indian streets without anyone bothering them.

I am adding this line as an afterthought –This is the follow up to my earlier post. Please do read that too

Women walking topless in Indian streets? Dude what are you saying? Dont even except such thing and hope it doesnt happen here.

We should be proud of the culture we have and way women carry themselves. For me a lady looks more beautiful when she is well dressed and carries herself beautifully. Atleast you can keep watching and adoring her!

I am intrigued - I stumbled across your blog by chance and see you involved in a discussion which I used to hold dear. A long time ago (when I was much younger and less aware) I didn't wear a bra. This was not to attract attention but purely for comfort and to be honest my breasts were very small; I was never molested, I may have been oggled (but was oblivious)I have always maintained that a woman should be able to walk down the street naked without being condemned. Having said that, now older and 2 children later I have reached a stage in life where I am now that invisible woman I longed to be in my youth!
I was always at co-ed schools, but my late husband was always at a single-sex school - he was never comfortable in female company and had no female "friends" - he never understood that I could be friendly with a male that I didn't want to leap into bed with. Sad.

Jon, I think the more we promote real interaction among girls and boys, the less awkward their interactions with each other will be. I have always studied in co-ed institutions, had a lot of male friends, still have. There was nothing amiss in the eyes of my parents or my husband. This is what I meant by saying filth. Don't treat a woman or a man as an object of desire only by the way they dress. There are things out of the realm of sexual context when it comes to interacting between people of the opposite sexes. We need to focus on those to make it healthier for both men and women to have their freedom for leading their lives.

@rachna and rohini...
So i believe increased coperation in childhood can reduce the amount of sexuality during interaction!!
