Shame of illiteracy

A small guy came to, apparently from the impoverished northern part. His dress showed up that. They were worn out, inspite of the neatly washed and combed hair. He came with a piece of paper that had a name and account number written over it. He wanted to deposit some money.

As the practice goes, for the ones who don’t know English, we fill the deposit slip asking them to sign at the bottom. But this guy stood still.

‘I don’t know how to sign’

‘Atleast write your name’. He nodded the head in negative. The boy didn’t know how to write. Apparently it was written somewhere that depositor will have to sign over his name.

I saw the shame spreading across his face.

Good Mornings 17082011

Yesterday would have been the most illustrious independence day in our history. Finally we managed to break the bondages of State Machinery and came together to defend an illustrious son of the soil. Indians, we ought to be proud.
I am still very much vary of the idea of satyagraha, which is a counter revolutionary procedure. But the world over, irrespective of ideologies people are getting on to the streets. May be it's global warming, the temperature are soaring high.

May be we forgot the man who started this all- Assange.

In another corner of India, some clowns are preventing stock taking of world's richest temple claiming wrath of Diety. The fear may even prevent Supreme court from cancelling their ruling.

A hospital experience

I detest hospitals and the smell of their detergents. Our family is very much averse to visiting a doctor, getting injected or lying in a hospital bed. Still these are inevitability of life. I always had this nagging nightmare of a loved one in hospital bed.

Last week I had to cut short a weekend road trip and rush back home. My dad was down with dengue. Dengue is not good especially when you have started to age, with various other complications already haunting you. We were a bit tense. Dad was too eager to go back home and doctors were having none of it.

We had to stay up in a general (common) ward as this was a season for fever and there was no private rooms available. We got used to the ‘first’ experience slowly as Dad fought a battle to eat as much as he can inspite of little appetite. We had to coax him like a stubborn kid on slice after slice of fruits.

Soon we got used to the ‘horror’ of staying a common ward. As humans we were more exposed to vulnerability of mortals. There were patients raging from babies to old men. We got used to the loud wails, farts, moans, gossips. There developed a strange camaraderie as majority of the bedridden had very few to look after them and a very few bedridden were suffocated with attention.

The cheerful nurses kept the clock ticking. They ran around doing their chores for 12 hours straight.. The hospital toilets were spic and span despite overuse. The staff made extra sure about these and cleaned them thrice a day. They even knew one or two tricks in case of an emergency.

I wouldn’t say I enjoyed the stay. But yes, it was memorable. But a memory I wouldn’t want to repeat.

The dance of wipers

Mr.Murdoch owns and controls the nerve centre of world's largest media conglomerate. His reach and control in shaping western and world policies are notorious. Thankfully destiny prevented him from taking over Sky B.

Now when his chips are down, the central figure to emerge is going to be the second largest investor Bin Taleel. Hope he might have already been spoilt by western riches or USA and its conservative policy makers will find themselves in deep shit.

Then I happened to read another news that of the 22 soldiers shot down from a chopper in Afghan 22 belonged to the elite squad that terminated Osama. Now that's what I call a wow!! Although unconfirmed this might cause a pain in Obama's ass and he can kiss his re-election campaign good bye.

Right now I am watching some stupid guy in Delhi trying to whitewash Sheila DIxit. Dude however the best you try, you sound like an asshole. But then you would have made your crores already. So blabber on. Kapil just finished his joker act.

I, the villain

When I split the milk in the morning, I was pretty sure this wasn’t going to be a great day. Naturally, my instincts said that I might mess something up at the office. Strangely nothing went bad. I was wondering if anything was yet to come up or had the angel passed over me? The buddies called me for dinner. That’s when the axe fell.

There was this guy, who did hang out with a girl. Someone else asked me what is going on. I spiced things up by blurting out that I heard stories too. I never knew that this jerk would jerk off soon.

All hell broke loose and I was pretty sure that the dinner buddies are going to bash me up. My only worry was about losing the dinner. I chose to stand and listen while I was being accused of gross misdemeanors. The one thing I fail to understand is if there were nothing at all except friendship then why bother?

Besides there comes a point in life, when you grow up enough to differentiate between the two. As for me I spent the night getting verbally bashed. Still believe in the school of thought that there is no friendship between the opposite sexes with out an element of sexuality.

Good Mornings 04082011

Good Mornings everyone.

The newspaper nowadays gives me nothing but pain. Imagine a learned minister quote filmy dialogues out of context to white wash a tainted leader.

I have learnt that most important thing in a bachelor life. I am going to cut down night life browsing and do more ‘qualitative’ reading and writing. A free and lonely life can arouse the inner most emotions in you.

I have been thinking if suppressing your emotions, sensualities and desires is the way to discipline. Got to do more thinking
